May Day!
April showers bring May flowers! So they say. So what is happening in McGrath and for KSKO this May? We just started a t-shirt design contest! We want our listeners to design something for a t-shirt that represents all of our listening communities, while welcoming Nikolai back on the airwaves.
Yes! Nikolai will be able to hear us by the end of May. We are excited to have them join us again. It has been a long time coming, and we thank everyone who has made it possible.
Right now the McGrath School is having Traditions Week! Takotna and Nikolai are also here to join the fun. There will be a basketball game tomorrow night, the 5-7th graders play at 7pm, and then on Wednesday the 7-12th will also play at 7pm.
There will be a talent show at the school on Thursday at 2pm. Then on Friday Lieutenant Governor, Byron Mallot will be speaking via Skype at 10am. The bike-a-thon is also scheduled for Friday, the children will meet up outside of the school at 12:30pm. The bike-a-thon is an annual fundraising event.
KSKO is gearing up for Back to Bluegrass! It's already a month away, and we couldn't be more excited! Curtis Richardson's Band will be coming out to McGrath. Curtis hails from Anvik, one of our listening communities. There will be a few other bands, including Marc Brown and the Blues Crew!
